Project Research and development of an advanced formulation for alveolar ridge augmentation – OSTEOproDENT.
Job description
We are seeking two dedicated Research Associates to join our team in the Operations division, to work on the OSTEOproDENT project. Your primary responsibility will be hands-on laboratory work, driving innovation:
• Develop and apply aseptic techniques on cell culture; inoculation, feeding, sampling, recovery, and purification processes on a small scale (upstream and downstream process). Experience in small-scale (shaking flasks) and single-use bioreactors is considered a plus
• Contributing directly to the research and production development of rhBMP6 for our novel bone-healing drug.
• Conducting various laboratory experiments, data collection, and analysis, and supporting the overall research objectives under the supervision of senior scientists
• Advancing our scientific understanding and development efforts for new drug therapies
• Providing hands-on support in the lab and contributing to the innovative research driving our drug development projects
• Combining technical skills with analytical capabilities plays a significant part in advancing our scientific objectives
• Support process development (perfusion and intensified fed-batch) at the bench and pilot scale
Responsibilities
• Experimental Conduct: Perform laboratory experiments following GMP standards and established protocols and methodologies related to bone regeneration research
• Data Collection and Analysis: Gather, record, and analyze experimental data, ensuring accuracy and reliability of results
• Lab Maintenance: Maintain laboratory equipment and supplies, ensuring a clean and safe working environment
• Research Support: Assist senior research staff in various aspects of projects, including sample preparation, reagent preparation, and maintaining lab notes and records
• Collaborative Work: Participate in research team meetings, contributing ideas and findings to advance project goals
• Literature Reviews: Stay informed of recent scientific advances and literature in bone regeneration and related areas
• Report Writing: Assist in preparing research reports, scientific papers, and presentations
• Reporting: Reports to a Senior Scientist or Project Lead in the R&D department
O zaposleniku
Education: Masters in biotechnology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or a related scientific field.
Experience: Experience in a pharmaceutical research laboratory, or biotechnology production process, with mandatory experience in working with bioreactors or conducting pharmaceutical research. Prior experience in bone regeneration research and recombinant protein manufacturing is an advantage.
• cGMP experience within biologics, pharmaceuticals, and/or vaccine manufacturing, including expertise in aseptic techniques, suspension cell culture processes, media/feed development, recovery, purification, bulk formulation, and aseptic environments
• Experience in single-use bioreactor operations is a big advantage, including setup and process run on single-use bioreactors. Knowledge and hands-on experience in perfusion and intensified fed-batch processes are also considered as an advantage.
Skills: Strong laboratory and pilot scale skills (recombinant protein expression; aseptic techniques on cell culture; inoculation, feeding, sampling, recovery, and purification processes on a small and pilot scale (upstream and downstream process), attention to detail, analytical thinking, effective communication, and the ability to work collaboratively in a research environment.
Language: Proficiency in English, both written and spoken, at a minimum of B2 level.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of a deep understanding of upstream and downstream processes with mammalian cell culture and perfusion bioreactor development to produce clinical and commercial therapeutic proteins.
