ACCOUNTING MANAGER, 1, m/f
Place of work: ZAGREB, Croatia
Naton WS is looking for an Accounting Manager (M/F) to manage the accounting team (5 employees on two sites) and oversee daily operations of Accounting department as well as to guarantee accuracy and reliability of financial data. The Accounting Manager is also responsible for producing financial reports and statements (internal and external uses) and he/she also establishes and enforces proper accounting methods, policies and principles, to enhance overall performance of accounting team. The successful candidate for this position will report directly to Central Europe Finance Manager and will play an instrumental role in the growth of the company. The client operates in agricultural business.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Provides control of entered data into the system to ensure their timeliness, their accuracy and their high quality
• Indicates the possible irregularities, and participates in their elimination
• Controls the posting of manual and automatic orders and their compliance with the accounting policy of the company, legal regulations and norms
• Controls the trial balance on a daily, monthly and annual basis, sees and corrects any irregularities
• Monitors analytical balance cards of suppliers, customers (domestic and foreign), and participates if need be in their harmonization and reconciliation
• Takes part in organising monthly and yearly financial close process (including ensuring all costs incurred are properly recorded, reviewing journal entries, account balance reconciliations and report preparation)
• Controls and validates all tax and official declarations to local authorities (VAT, tax return, etc.)
• Collaborates with external partners (auditors, banks, tax authorities) to ensure successful audit results
• Develops performance of accounting team, by fostering team spirit and result-oriented mindset
• Proposes, adapts and implements internal accounting policies within the organisation, to ensure compliance with local regulations and corporate guidelines
• Controls and monitors the work of accountants and clerks, notes eventual gaps in their work and corrects them to improve performance of the department,
• Ensures that there is a redundant process backup in place for every critical operation

• Full-time employment (40 hours weekly)
• Working hours: flexible between 7,30 -18,00 hrs (8 hrs daily)
• Indefinite contract with a trial period of 6 months

• Place of work: Zagreb West/ possible trips within Croatia occasionally

Znanja i kvalifikacije:
EXPECTATIONS
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance required (Master’s degree preferred)
• Proven knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles, practices, standards, laws and regulations
• 5 years’ experience in the same/similar position (international milieu is a plus)
• Ms Office Intermediate/Advanced (Pivot tables, database)
• Knowledge of Navision is preferred
• Advanced English (written and spoken)
• Excellent communication, team-spirit, ability to lead and supervise, a person open to changes
• Timeliness, a high attention to detail and accuracy
• Change management
• Interested in the project (growing with the company)
• B - category driver’s licence
