Summary: The U.S. Mission in Zagreb, Croatia is seeking eligible and qualified applicants for the position of Cultural Affairs Assistant (Outreach).  


The work schedule for this position is: 


•             full time – 40 hours per week.


Start date: Candidate must be able to begin working within a reasonable period of time after the receipt of agency authorization and/or clearances/certifications or their candidacy may end.


Supervisory Position:  No


Duties:  The incumbent manages thematic programming aimed at fostering the growth of entrepreneurship in Croatia, a key Mission goal.  The incumbent is the primary interlocutor with Post's active and engaged alumni community.  S/he works to constantly enhance Post's relationships with NGOs and civil society organizations that work on Mission priority issues and also manages and administers several exchange programs.

EDUCATION:  University degree in humanities, information sciences, business/economics or public relations required.


Requirements:


EXPERIENCE:  Two years of experience in education, public relations, journalism, NGO development, business/entrepreneurship or International Relations is required.


KNOWLEDGE:  Must have excellent knowledge of social media platforms and Croatian media, civil society, political figures, social institutions, and social media environment.


Evaluations:


LANGUAGE:  Level IV (fluent) Speaking/Reading/Writing of English is required.  (This may be tested). Level 4 (fluent) speaking/Reading/Writing of Croatian language is required.


SKILLS AND ABILITIES:  Must have excellent communication skills, both oral and written.  Must be able to problem solve independently.


Qualifications:  All applicants under consideration will be required to pass security certifications.
