Incumbent serves as a member of the embassy’s IT team as a technical implementer and solutions consultant, responsible for operation of embassy networks, servers, workstations, and software, as well as recommending and implementing innovative technical solutions to improve business processes. Working in a Microsoft & Cisco hybrid cloud environment the incumbent is also responsible for customer support and training for the mission’s 260 employees from various government agencies to ensure the highest level of customer service. Incumbent also ensures all systems are operated in compliance with Department of State information security policies, standards, and guidelines. This position enjoys a high level of autonomy in fulfillment of duties receiving guidance and direction of the Information Systems Officer.

JOB KNOWLEDGE: Must have comprehensive knowledge of systems administration and network operations, as well as in-depth knowledge about Microsoft Windows workstations and servers, as well as standard office productivity software. Must develop a functional knowledge of Department regulations and security requirements related to systems and information security.
Education Requirements:
Completion of baccalaureate degree, in the fields of computer science, information systems management, or equivalent is required.

LANGUAGE: English Language: Good Working Knowledge (will be tested) and Croatian Language: Fluent.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Requires ability to diagnose both hardware and software problems and recommend viable solutions; ability to manage LANs with varying degrees of complexity. Able to communicate effectively with colleagues, USG officials and representatives of the Croatian government and private sector. Must be able to lift 10kgs to a height of 3 feet.
