TMF Group is looking for an Internal Accountant to join its Team in Croatia
Job Position: Internal Accountant (m/f)
Europe – full time – Zagreb
Job Purpose:
The Internal Accountant will be responsible for overall bookkeeping, accounting and reporting activities of the company. S/He will work with an experienced team of TMF accounting professionals with backgrounds in financial management. This role will directly report to the Management consisted of Finance and Managing Director.
Key responsibilities:
- Responsible for the booking of all journal entries and accounting documents into the general ledger
- Responsible for the preparation of balance sheet, income statements, statistical statements, financial statements and various other accounting statements and reports required by TMF
- Review and verify the accuracy of journal vouchers, payroll records, sales, purchase ledgers and petty cash expenses
- Analysis of liabilities (AP) and receivables (AR)
- Participation in invoicing process; approval, posting and payment of vendor invoices
- Calculation of all prepayments, accruals, deferred costs income
- Supervision of fixed assets register
- Posting bank transactions, payroll journals and pre-payments
- Deal with, act on or assign correspondence from third parties including tax authorities, lawyers, partners, etc.
- Coordinate annual reviews, billing and other internal controls to ensure that they are conducted and observed
- Keep up to date with changes in local accounting and tax legislation
- Identify areas for improvement in policies, processes, procedures and systems
- Support the implementation and updating of systems
- Responsible to integrate, work effectively in a team, collaborate and share knowledge/expertise across service lines and other TMF offices on specific deals
- Work in compliance with all TMF procedures and related standards of work
- Any other responsibility according to Superiors
- University degree (Economy/Finance/Accounting preferable)
- 3+ years of experience on similar roles
- MS Office (excellent knowledge of Excel) and experience in working with ERP system
- Fluent in both written and spoken English
- Previous experience in working in international environment
- Ability to prepare accounts in accordance with Croatia Accounting Standards
- Experience in preparing reports for the Management
- Keeps up to date on current internal and external procedures and regulations
