Summary: The U.S. Mission in Zagreb, Croatia is seeking eligible and qualified applicants for the position of Investigator.

The work schedule for this position is:
• full time – 40 hours per week.

Start date: Candidate must be able to begin working within a reasonable period of time after the receipt of agency authorization and/or clearances/certifications or their candidacy may end.

Supervisory Position: No

Duties: Serves as investigative specialist and advisor in matters relevant to the coordination and strategic planning of DEA activities throughout the foreign area of jurisdiction. This includes such matters as international and local level investigations involving the development of information pertaining to the detection and prevention of the production, smuggling, and distribution of illegal narcotics, diversion of legal precursor chemicals, money laundering, and related crimes. Additional duties include bi-lingual interviewing, translation of information (written, audio, oral), preparing and presenting briefings, presentations, and training relevant to current law enforcement investigative techniques, ongoing investigations, drug intelligence, and drug trends.

Qualifications and Evaluations

EDUCATION: Bachelor’s Degree in Law Enforcement, Criminology, Police and Security Studies or Law is required.

Requirements:

EXPERIENCE: At least three (3) years of commissioned law enforcement experience to include at least 2 years of narcotics-related investigative experience, along with governmental or judicial experience with criminal law is required.

KNOWLEDGE: Must have thorough and qualified knowledge of legislation and organizational structure of Croatian, Serbian, Bosnia-Herzegovinian and Montenegrin judicial systems and police agencies

Evaluations:

LANGUAGE: Level 4 (fluent) Speaking/Reading/Writing of English is required. (This may be tested). Level 4 (fluent) speaking/Reading/Writing of Croatian language is required.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Must have cat B driver’s license. Ability to draft reports and complete administrative paperwork in English is required. Must have excellent computer skills.

Qualifications: All applicants under consideration will be required to pass security certifications.
