Our client is a private, family-owned leader in the harbor towage sector, with operations across the Mediterranean. As they continue to expand, they’re transitioning to a more structured IT landscape, centrally managed by their parent group. They’re looking for a proactive and skilled IT System Administrator to join their team in Zagreb.

- overseeing the management of UNIX/Linux environments, particularly Gentoo and Debian systems, with proficiency in ZFS for storage and volume management
- administering and maintaining Proxmox-based virtualized infrastructure
- ensuring optimal network functionality, including configuring VPNs, managing bridging, and securing firewalls using iptables
- handling user authentication and permissions through LDAP
- configuring and maintaining web services powered by Nginx
- providing first-line technical support through an internal ticketing syste and addressing IT issues and incidents
- participating in and contributing to IT enhancement initiatives across the organization
- conducting training sessions for internal stakeholders to enhance system use and awareness.

- a minimum of 3-5 years of hands-on experience in system administration
- strong expertise in UNIX/Linux environments, particulary Gentoo, Debian, and ZFS management
- experience with the Proxmox virtualization platform
- strong skills in network monitoring, VPNs, bridging, iptables, and firewall setup
- proficiency in usling LDAP for user authentication and management
- solid experience in configuring and managing Nginx web services
- fluency in English, both written and spoken
- knowledge of Oracle JDE applications is a plus
- familiarity with Windows Server (2016 or newer)
- proficiency in SQL and database management
- familiarity with scripting languages (e.g. Bash, Python) and server security best practices
- experience with version control systems and deployment pipelines
- knowledge of managing asymmetric keys for secure server access
