What you will be doing...
Reporting to a Regional Risk & Safety Manager - Jet2holidays, the Overseas Risk & Safety Manager will support the Company in delivering industry leading risk and safety standards for customers staying within our overseas resorts. Please note this position will involve extensive travel in the region or country you would be working in and occasional travel to other regions or countries.
In this exciting new position, you will be working closely with various internal and external stakeholders to support hoteliers and other suppliers in addressing Risk & Safety concerns identified during the audit process and following any incidents or illnesses to conclusion. Acting as a champion of Customer Safety and providing support to the Risk & Safety and Overseas Teams as required, assisting in the smooth running of our on-sale process by liaising with suppliers to complete the required assessments is vital to the success of this role. You will carry out and manage excursion and activity risk assessments where required and follow up with suppliers on issues identified in any audits/inspections, helping them address any issues raised and revisiting and reviewing that identified actions have been undertaken. You will also advise and support for the overseas teams when they are carrying out the safety aspects of their role, collating and monitoring the pre-season checklists and subsequent follow-ups making sure any ongoing controls are implemented for all Jet2holidays suppliers overseas. In addition, you will work on a regional basis, and will be expected to be based in an overseas location, but with responsibility for addressing Risk & Safety issues across a number of different destinations.
You will need a good understanding of Risk and Safety requirements overseas and previous Tour Operation experience to be considered for the position. A strong communicator you will be able to negotiate and influence at a high level and have the ability to deal with difficult situations and take them to a positive conclusion. You will be highly organised, well prepared and able to prioritise workloads effectively. You will need to have a full driving license with the confidence to drive overseas and the flexibility to work the hours and patterns as required by the needs of the operation.
