How to become a Wind Turbine Technician?
The best with the Global Wind Service!
Why? Because we have our own GWS Academy in Poland (training center certified by the Global Wind Organization), where you can perfect your technical talents with series of comprehensive introduction trainings to the wind industry. After completion of our Entry Program, you are able to start work on our Onshore Wind Farm Installations.
Your main tasks, while working on project sites, will depend on your profile and 360 assessment made by the instructors in the Academy. There are 3 main types of Onshore Installation profiles:
a) main installation technician
b) mechanical technician
c) electrical technician
Your basic responsibilities will be up to your assignment:
• work acc. to the specifics of a team (e.g. pre-assembly of components/ main installation/ finishing works)
• following the work instructions and the orders from the leader/ manager
• participation in toolboxes and GWS campaigns
• further, constant learning process - client specific trainings in class and on-line, skills development "in action": on site under the supervision of experienced technicians
• at every step: care for safety and the highest quality of work

• technical skills and interests (e.g. in mechanics, electrics, automotive, energy, construction)
• education profile: mechanical, electrical, mechatronics, renewables
• medical fitness to work, lack of fear of heights/ confined spaces
• availability to work abroad in rotations: 6 weeks x 2 weeks
• readiness to communicate 100% in English - from job interview to the training
• valid and active: driving license cat. B and EU passport
• team work and open-mind
• readiness to learn new profession step-by-step
• technical skills and interests (e.g. in mechanics, electrics, automotive, energy, construction)
• education profile: mechanical, electrical, mechatronics, renewables
